ABOUT
I’m Samuele Bandini, a Concept Designer and Illustrator with over five years of experience in the game industry
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with studios such as Wizards of the Coast, Games Workshop, and Free Range Games. At Free Range Games, I worked on The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, contributing to the full development of the environments, from early mood paintings and location design to detailed visual iterations of structures and terrain. Seeing many of those concepts brought to life in-game was incredibly rewarding and reaffirmed my love for building worlds.
My creative process is grounded in research and real-world references.
I believe strong design comes from asking questions, staying curious, and refining ideas through iteration. While I rely heavily on 3D tools for speed and accuracy, I also maintain a consistent practice in digital and traditional painting to stay versatile and rooted in fundamentals.
In 2025, I completed the Advanced Environment Design and Digital Painting course at Focal Point School, further deepening my skills in narrative design and visual storytelling.
Beyond concept art, my background in Web and Graphic Design gives me an edge when working on UI mockups and game interfaces, allowing me to contribute to both the aesthetic and functional aspects of a project.
Whether working on established IPs or helping develop new worlds from the ground up, I bring dedication, curiosity, and a collaborative mindset to every project.
I'm always open to new challenges and creative partnerships.
TESTIMONIALS
Samuele was instrumental in bringing the halls of Moria to life. There is hardly a corner of the world that wasn't shaped in some way by his concepts. His methodical approach and instinct for drama made him a natural partner with which to forge a vision for the world.
